About Integrative Pet Parent

Integrative Pet Parent exists because the system isn’t built for your pet.

It’s built for throughput. Fifteen-minute appointments. Vague diagnoses. Half-sheet plans. Labs that come back “normal” while something is clearly off. Vets who care, working inside a system shaped by corporate and pharmaceutical incentives that were never designed with your individual pet in mind.

And the result is something every pet parent feels but no one is naming clearly enough.

Dogs used to live to fifteen, eighteen, even twenty. Thriving. Until they weren’t. Today the average Golden Retriever makes it to nine.

Something has to change.

Integrative Pet Parent is the publication for pet parents who refuse to accept that. The ones who notice their dog isn’t quite right even when the bloodwork says otherwise. The ones who have a binder of records and a list of questions their vet didn’t have time for. The ones who know there has to be a better way and are looking for someone who can show them what it actually is.

Who I Am

I’m Jennifer Makeeff. I built a pet services company from nothing to seven figures, while also fighting for my own life. Before that, I spent more than two decades in strategic operations and pattern recognition across federal and Fortune 500 work. My gift, the one people kept asking me about, is seeing what others miss. The trends in the data. The cracks before they become catastrophes.

The pet work has a specific origin. I lost Keiki, my cat, and Jessie, my dog, within the same season. What started as helping friends became a conversation I kept having: “What are you doing differently? My dog is calmer. Happier. Their coat looks better.”

That conversation built into a mission with one phrase at the center of it.

“Elevate the care.”

I hold a postgraduate certification in Integrative Pet Health Coaching and have studied alongside leading veterinarians and scientists at the forefront of integrative care.

I am not a veterinarian. I am a translator, a pattern reader, and an advocate for your pet.

What You’ll Find Here

For pet parents who want a structured, paid review of their pet’s health — the trends across labs, the flags conventional ranges miss, the questions to bring to your next vet appointment, and the working session to walk through it together — the Integrative Second Opinion is the next step.

“Wellness is not just the absence of disease. It is actually recognizing that we can make intentional lifestyle choices on a daily basis that ultimately create abundant health.”

— Dr. Karen Becker

This is the north star of Integrative Pet Parent. Wellness is not a reaction to illness. It is a daily practice of intentional choices made with better information.

Welcome.
